PRIZE DRAW TERMS AND CONDITIONS – For the Forces


1.    The Promoter

For the Forces LTD, registered under Company Number 16193917, may run several competitions simultaneously. Each competition will offer one specific prize, and all details regarding these prizes are provided in line with the terms and conditions outlined on our official website: www.fortheforces.com.


2.    Competition

2.1 The competition is managed and operated by For the Forces.

2.2 The competition is open to individuals aged 18 or older, except for employees, their families, professional advisors, or anyone else directly involved in the development, operation, or management of the competition.

2.3 By entering the competition, all participants understand that paying for each entry to answer the question does not in any way guarantee winning the prize.

2.4 Only completed entries containing the correct answer, as determined by For the Forces, will be eligible for the competition. Failure to provide the correct answer via the website will still result in charges for the entry.

2.5 As a condition of entry, participants must ensure they comply with the laws of their country of residence. For the Forces will not be responsible if an entry is made unlawfully.

2.6 The competition, its administration, and all related activities are governed by English Law, and both For the Forces and participants agree that any disputes will be resolved in the County or High Courts of England.

2.7 For the Forces reserves the right to refuse or disqualify any entry if there are reasonable grounds to believe that the participant has breached these terms and conditions or engaged in conduct deemed illegal.

2.8 All entries become the property of For the Forces upon receipt and will not be returned.


3.    Eligibility

3.1 The competition is open only to residents of the United Kingdom who are 18 years or older, with the exception of:(a) employees of the Promoter;(b) employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter who are professionally involved with the competition or its management;(c) immediate family members or those living in the same household as the individuals mentioned in (a) and (b).

3.2 By entering the competition, you confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria and are qualified to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter will ask you to provide proof of Military or Veteran ID to claim the prize. If you fail to provide the requested proof or any other necessary information within a reasonable timeframe, you may be disqualified from the competition.

3.3 The Promoter will not accept entries that are:(a) automatically generated by a computer;(b) incomplete.

3.4 The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any participant whose behaviour is deemed inconsistent with the spirit or intent of the competition. This includes, but is not limited to, rudeness or abusive behavior towards the Promoter or anyone associated with the competition.

3.5 Entry fees will not be refunded under any circumstances, including:(a) if you later discover that you are ineligible to enter the competition or claim the prize;(b) if the eligibility criteria change after your entry and you no longer qualify;(c) if you are disqualified by the Promoter for any reason.

3.6 If an entrant engages in any of the following activities:(a) any form of fraud (actual or apparent);(b) fraudulent misrepresentation;(c) fraudulent concealment;(d) hacking or interference with the proper operation of the website; or(e) unauthorized use or alteration of the website’s code, all their entries will be voided, no refunds will be issued, and they may be prohibited from participating in future competitions.


4.    How to Enter

4.1 To enter, you must answer the competition question using skill, knowledge, and judgment to provide the correct answer.

4.2 The maximum number of entries allowed varies by competition. Each competition will specify how many entries a person can make.

4.3 To enter, you will need to provide your contact details (name, address, email, phone number) and payment information for the entry fee. Once submitted, your payment will be processed.

4.4 The competition will close once the maximum number of entries is reached or the closing date passes. The Promoter may extend the closing date if needed due to unexpected circumstances.

4.5 All entries are final, and no refunds will be given, except if the competition is canceled or entries are submitted after the competition ends.

4.6 The Promoter’s decision is final, and no further discussions will take place after the winner is determined.

4.7 The usual requirement to deliver goods within 30 days (as per the Consumer Protection Regulations) does not apply to this competition.

4.8 Free Postal Entry: To enter for free, send a postcard with the following details:

  • The competition you want to enter

  • The correct answer to the question

  • Your full name

  • Date of birth

  • Postal address

  • Email address

  • A contact number Postcards must include the correct answer.

Free entries are limited to the same number as paid entries for each competition. You must have an active account on the website to enter for free. Your details must match those on your account to process the entry.

4.9 Send free entries to: 33 Bluehaze avenue, Seaford, East Sussex, BN25 3QJ. Entries must arrive before the competition closes. Entries that don’t follow the rules will be disqualified. Free entries will be processed daily by a member of the team and uploaded to the system.

4.10 All entries must be in English. Entries in any other language will be disqualified, and no refund will be given.

4.11 We will not respond to postal entries.

4.12 We are not responsible for lost, delayed, or incomplete entries, including those affected by postal delays, technical issues, or system failures.

4.13 Winners will be verified, and if false information is provided, the prize will be void, and a redraw will take place.

4.14 Entry lists will be available on the website for at least 24 hours after the draw. You can check if your name is on the list.

4.15 For free postal entries, a random ticket number will be assigned using the same method as paid entries. You can view your ticket numbers in your account and on the Winners Wall after the draw.


5.    Choosing a winner

5.1 The winner will be chosen randomly using our in-built computer generated automatic draw system. 

5.2 The exact date and time of the draw will be confirmed on Facebook and/or our website once the competition ends. This will be done within 48 hours of the competition closing.

5.3 Entry lists will be posted on our Facebook page, “For the Forces,” and/or our website at least 4 hours before the draw, unless otherwise stated.

5.4 Occasionally, draw numbers displayed in your “My Account” may change until the draw is officially closed, and the entry list is published. This could happen if the competition closes early with fewer tickets sold than expected, or in rare cases due to human or technical error.

5.5 There will be one winner per competition unless stated otherwise.

5.6 Once the prize has been awarded, you will be contacted by us. We will not send the item until we have spoken to you personally. Re confirming your address and email address provided for updates on the tracking from the mailing company.  


6.    The Prize

6.1 The prize for each competition is described on the Website (the “Prize”). To the best of the Promoter’s knowledge, the details provided are correct at the time the competition opens.

6.2 Prizes are subject to availability. The Promoter reserves the right to replace any prize with one of equal or higher value. If there are any changes to the prize, the Promoter will update the Website as soon as possible.

6.3 The Promoter does not make any warranties or guarantees regarding the Prize, its value, condition, or any other details listed on the Website. The Promoter also does not guarantee that the information provided on the Website is accurate, complete, or up-to-date.

6.4 The Prize may be supplied by a third-party (the “Supplier”). If this is the case, details of the Supplier will be listed on the Website.

6.5 The Promoter has the right to replace the Prize with a Cash Prize under the following circumstances:(a) if the Prize becomes unavailable;(b) if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control make it necessary.

6.6 The Prize cannot be exchanged or transferred.


7.    Prize Winner Requirements

7.1 Prize Winners must have registered to ‘For the Forces’, provided proof of age (18+) and valid service identification before receiving their Prize. If this requirement is not met, the Winner may be disqualified, and the Prize may be re-allocated.

7.2 Prize Winners must agree to have photos and/or videos taken of them, and their personal details, including the Prize won, may be used in marketing and public relations materials by the Promoter. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in disqualification and the Prize being re-allocated.

7.3 After verifying the required details, and provided the Winner has met these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter will contact the Winner to arrange delivery of the Prize.


8.    Prize Claim and Responsibility

8.1 You must claim the Prize personally; a third party cannot claim it on your behalf. Details about how the Prize will be delivered or made available for collection will be provided on the Website.

8.2 If your contact details change, you must notify the Promoter as soon as possible by emailing info@fortheforces.com. Your notification should include details of the competition, your old contact information, and your updated details. If your details change within 10 days of the Closing Date, the Promoter will use your old information to try and contact you.

8.3 Any Cash Prize will be transferred directly to the Winner’s nominated bank account. The Winner must provide proof that they are the account holder. If this is not provided within 7 days, the Winner may be disqualified, and the prize may be offered to the next eligible entrant.

8.4 The Promoter is not responsible and will not offer compensation if you are unable to claim or take the prize.


9.    Liability & Data Use

9.1 The Winner agrees that their name, town and unit if applicable may be posted on the Website within 24 hours as part of the announcement.

9.2 The Winner also agrees to have photos and/or videos taken for promotional use, both immediately after the win and in future marketing.

9.3 By entering, Entrants allow the Promoter to store their personal details and use them in line with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Privacy Policy.

9.4 Except for death or injury, the Promoter isn’t responsible for any losses from errors or omissions in the Competition, Prize details, or Website content. Entrants (and Winners) must ensure all details are correct.

9.5 The Promoter isn’t liable for lost or incomplete entries, or any issues with the Website.

9.6 The Promoter isn’t responsible for entries not received due to technical problems or system failures.

9.7 These rules do not create a contract or joint venture between the Entrant and the Promoter.

9.8 Entries will be void if the Entrant engages in fraud, hacking, or unauthorized use of the Website


10.    Validation

10.1 The Promoter may withhold the Prize until it is satisfied that:

  • The Prize Winner has a valid account and follows the terms.

  • All amounts owed to the Promoter have been paid.

  • The Winner’s age and identity have been verified.

10.2 The Promoter has the right to:

  • Withhold or cancel the Prize if fraud is suspected.

  • Retrieve the Prize or its value if fraud is detected.

10.3 The Promoter may give the Prize to an authorized representative with legal documentation (e.g., power of attorney).


11.    Account Security

11.1 You are responsible for keeping your account password secure and must:

  • Memorize your password and keep it private.

  • Never write it down or store it in a way others could understand.

  • Destroy any communications from the Promoter about your password after reading.

  • Choose a hard-to-guess password.

  • Ensure no one else uses your account while logged in.

  • Log off when not using your account.

11.2 Your password is for your personal use only. Don’t share it or give others access to your account.

11.3 If you think someone has used your account or knows your password, contact the Promoter immediately.

11.4 If you forget your password, follow the instructions on the Website to reset it (after providing required security details).

11.5 The Promoter is not responsible for any issues resulting from a breach of these security rules or any actions you take related to your account


12.    Changes to Terms and Conditions

We may update our terms and conditions occasionally. The latest version will be posted on the Website once the changes are effective. Please check this page regularly to stay informed about the current terms. By continuing to use the Website after the updates are posted, you agree to the revised terms. We may also make changes to the Website and/or Competitions to improve our offerings, IT systems, and respond to user needs or feedback.

 

13.    General Terms

13.1 The Promoter may update these terms and conditions periodically. The latest version will always be available on the Website.

13.2 If there is any suspicion of a breach of these terms, the Promoter has the right to exclude you from this and future competitions at its discretion.

13.3 The Promoter can void, suspend, cancel, or amend the competition if necessary. The competition will not be canceled due to a lack of entries.

13.4 The competitions on the Website are not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Facebook. By entering, you agree that Facebook is not responsible for managing or promoting the competitions.

13.5 These terms and conditions are governed by English law, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.

13.6 It is recommended that you print and keep a copy of these terms and conditions for your records.
